A “flat enough” base can cost your concreter an extra day and you an extra thousand dollars in levelling compound on pour day — if you’re lucky. If you’re not, it shows up as cracking and pooling years later. We prepare bases for concrete slabs, shed floors, driveways, and hardstands that are accurate, properly compacted, and ready to pour.
As a licensed builder, Mark knows what concreters and builders need from a prepared base — because he’s been on that side of the job. We work backwards from your pour date to make sure the site is ready with no delays, no surprises, and no call the morning of asking why the base isn’t right.

Excavation to Required Depth
Depth confirmed with your concreter before we start. We excavate to the correct sub-grade level for the road base depth required.

Base Shaping with Correct Drainage Fall
Cross-fall or away-fall built into the sub-grade before road base goes in. The drainage is designed at the dirt level, not an afterthought.

Road Base or Gravel Placement
Road base placed and spread to correct depth. We can supply or work with your material, same result either way.

Laser-Levelled Finish Grade
Our Bobcat achieves the precision finish your concreter needs. No manual adjustment required on pour day.

Compaction
Road base compacted in lifts where required. A properly compacted base doesn't move under load — critical for driveways taking heavy vehicles or slabs over expansive soils.

Clean Site Ready for Formwork
Excess material removed, edges trimmed, site cleared. Your concreter arrives to a site they can set formwork on immediately, not one they have to tidy first.
